We specialise in the recruitment of high quality candidates in the Logistics & Procurement sector. We have an excellent opportunity for a Strategic Procurement Officer to work within the Network’s team who are dedicated to developing and delivering innovation projects to provide more effective and efficient ways of distributing energy for all customer.

Strategic Procurement Officer’s Core Duties

  • Responsible for sourcing the supply of goods, works and services in accordance with all internal policies and procedures and external legislation, including EU Procurement Legislation
  • Support the Category in the development of standard and complex contracting and sourcing strategies to ensure innovation on the company’s Networks Power Distribution network.
  • Conduct strategic sourcing events, planning and managing all elements of the sourcing process from end to end, engaging stakeholders and suppliers throughout the process
  • Drafting and reviewing special contractual terms
  • Conducting tender negotiations to ensure all costs, exclusions and deviations are known and the appropriate risk allocation has been made in accordance with the Contracting Strategy
  • Complete commercial analysis of tender submissions and making appropriate award recommendations

Strategic Procurement Officer’s Skills required

  • Broad knowledge of contracts with the ability to draft special terms, including IPR, NPD, risk and dispute procedures, with knowledge of relevant statutory and legal provisions
  • Be accomplished in negotiating costs and terms conditions
  • Be enthusiastic with excellent influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • Be comfortable communicating a various level within the business including presentation skills
  • Be self-motivated with high self-belief and confidence to challenge the norm and think creatively
  • Be commercially astute
  • Have strong problem-solving skills
  • Be comfortable working to deadlines, being able to change priorities whilst managing own time effectively
  • Have an appreciation for the intricacies of working with SME’s and Universities dealing with sole suppliers of a product or service
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills are essential
