We specialise in the recruitment of high quality candidates in the Administration sector. We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Administration Officer to work for a leading Academy Trust to help promote the safeguarding and welfare of children and oversee the smooth and efficient running of a school office.

£21,801 per annum (£18,132 pro-rata), Term-time only for up to 22 weeks (maternity cover)

Senior Administration Officer’s Core Duties

  • Being the first point of contact for all stakeholders within the school, including signing in and out of all visitors
  • Providing PA duties primarily to the Headteacher but also to the SLT
  • Monitoring incoming email traffic, and dealing with all enquiries in a timely manner
  • Managing the School Diaries and website calendars and proactively planning event dates
  • Producing letters and reports, paying the highest attention to detail and accuracy
  • Overseeing Breakfast and After School Club administration, encouraging use of the online booking/payment system and chasing payments when necessary
  • Arranging school trips, including transport, letters, consent/payments, trip packs etc
  • Organising Parent Consultation evenings -letters, booking system, reminders, and schedules
  • Identifying the need for Pupil Care Plans, liaising with parents and relevant staff
  • Event organisation, to include fundraising events
  • Liaising with PTA, assisting their communication with parents
  • Administering School Milk and School Fruit schemes
  • Overseeing the maintenance of all admin, information and parental engagement systems, including pupil records and end of year procedures
  • Overseeing the completion of daily attendance registers, ensuring unexplained absences are followed up and liaising with senior personnel if concerns
  • Implementing the school’s admissions arrangements and compiling admission packs
  • Awareness of all relevant dates and deadlines in the school year, including statutory returns and annual pupil assessment data

Senior Administration Officer’s Skills Required

  • Experienced Administrator, managing diaries, writing letters, answering emails and phone calls
  • Highly proficient with MS Office
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information
  • Experience with school safeguarding and the welfare of children (desirable)
  • Ability to multi-task and manage own workload to deadlines
