We specialise in the recruitment of high quality candidates in the Building & Engineering sector. We have an excellent opportunity for a Premises Manager to join a highly successful Building Product Manufacturer, based in Reading.

You will be responsible for the opening and closing of the site, the site security, safety, cleanliness and general maintenance of the site to ensure its kept looking its best at all times, maintained to a high standard whilst ensuring a safe working environment.

Premises Manager’s Core Duties

  • Acting as the main key holder and first point of contact, attending to emergency call out situations outside of normal working hours
  • Lock & Unlocking and opening the site Monday - Friday
  • To regularly check the site and building for damage and any potential security issues
  • To ensure that all services - heating, lighting and plumbing etc, are operating to satisfactory standards
  • Assisting with the movement of furniture, equipment and facilities as required (including the possible build-up of furniture)
  • To sign in/sign out (and supervise) any visitors and contractors on to site ensuring they are aware of the fire evacuation procedures and are operating safely and efficiently
  • To be the first point of contact for any safety inspections carried out on site i.e. LOLER, Fire Safety etc
  • General site housekeeping including Sweeping & tidying, Maintaining a tidy yard and perimeter and any emergency cleaning duties
  • Ensuring that clear passage is maintained on emergency escape routes
  • Keeping paths, entrances and walkways free of ice and snow
  • Directing the movement and operation of vehicles onto site
  • Unloading of deliveries to site (using the FLT if necessary), and ensuring all deliveries are stored and placed safely and securely in order to prevent unauthorized access and potential misuse
  • Carrying out quality and quantity checks of goods inwards
  • Continuously checking stock levels, monitoring usage and re-ordering with the head office when stock is required
  • Loading any outgoing vehicles (using the FLT if necessary)
  • Printing any outgoing paperwork required for Fitters and Service Engineer’s on a daily basis
  • Carrying out vehicle checks on a daily / weekly basis and reporting any defects to the head office
  • Promoting and maintaining high standards of housekeeping at all times to ensure an efficient and safe working environment

Premises Manager’s Key Experience

  • Resides within 30-minute travel time to site.
  • Experience within a site maintenance / premises role
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Counterbalance FLT Licence (addition of multi-directional)
  • Comfortable using power tools i.e. drills, circular saws
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to working hours and out of hours on call
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Self-motivated with a pro-active and practical approach
  • Takes responsibility and ownership
  • Organises own time effectively and prioritises workload
