We specialise in the recruitment of high quality candidates in the Accountancy sector. We have an excellent opportunity for a Payroll Controller to work for a global hotel group, based in Hammersmith London.
Hybrid: 3 days from home 2 days from London Office
As part of the Payroll and Benefits team you will be part of a team of 5 people. The successful candidate will be expected to fulfil the role as a team member assisting in the production of the UK payrolls for 3000 employees. The role is a key supporting function to the Payroll Team Leader, Benefits Controller and Payroll and Benefits Manager.
Payroll Controller’s Core Duties
- Inputting of starters, leavers, transfers and salary updates
- Importing of monthly timesheets
- Updating of employee’s personnel information
- Distributing hotels P45’s
- Raising manual payments of employee wages or advances
- Ensuring accurate payroll records are always maintained
- Processing HMRC, Department of working Pension, Council and Child Maintenance deduction of earnings orders.
- Dealing with all statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SAP, SPP, and SHPL)
- Producing and preparing monthly court order payments for the Treasury Department to pay over
- Dealing with HMRC PAYE & NI enquires and other ad-hoc third-party enquiries.
Payroll Controller’s Skills Required
- Ideally have a Certificate or Diploma in Payroll with CIPP or Payroll Alliance
- 3 years’ experience carrying out large volume payroll
- Ideally with knowledge of ADP Freedom
- Strong up to date knowledge of current HMRC and Payroll legislation
- Advanced Excel Skills
- Proven experience in the payroll area, ideally with knowledge of ADP Freedom
- An understanding of current payroll legislation and statutory requirements
- Good organisation skills
- Willing to take on new challenges and learn new skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal relationships skills
- Computer literate in MS Office Windows 2016 or 10
