An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Legal Secretary / Legal Assistant to join one of our prestigious clients based in Harrow. You should be an experienced Legal Secretary / Legal Assistant with at least 6 months experience working in Conveyancing.

Legal Secretary’s Core Duties

  1.  Administrative Tasks include:

(a) File management and administration including file opening, filing, scanning, and correspondence, diary management, fulfilling Anti-Money Laundering requirements, data entry and managing workflow on the plot administration system.

(b) Administration associated with closing and archiving of matters on the firm data entry system including where required undertaking billing and debt and disbursement recovery.

(c) Photocopying, compiling/binding documents, typing, dealing with work created by our outsourced typing and document producer, taking and making telephone calls, carrying out AntiMoney Laundering searches and any other administrative task which may be required by your team or the firm from time to time.

(d) Subject to your capabilities and skill set, you may be required to carry out duties normally undertaken by other staff members, and cover for holiday/sickness absences.

(e) You may be required to assist in covering reception for holiday/sickness absences.

  1. Legal Tasks include:

(a) Support to Fee Earners where required within the Department in conducting property searches, Land Registry searches and Companies House searches, attendance to registrations of paperwork at the Land Registry and Companies House.

(b) Dealing with post-completion matters including chasing paperwork, sending out correspondence and all client completion paperwork as may be required.

Legal Secretary’s Key Skills

  • Experienced in Commercial Conveyancing Processes
  • At least a years’ experience as a Conveyancing Legal Secretary / Assistant
  • Experience completing conveyancing/Land Registry/SDLT forms
  • Filing, Copy Typing and Audio Typing
  • Dealing with telephone enquiries and diary management
  • Formats for a variety of legal documents
  • General admin duties
