We specialise in the recruitment of high quality candidates in the Charity sector. We have a new and exciting opportunity for a International Programme / M&E Manager who will be responsible for program management, financials, monitoring and evaluation and who will report to Trustees and Donors.  The right candidate will excel in engaging and working with partners and funding agencies.  Current projects examples are: schools infrastructure, bursary schemes, social and welfare for orphans and widows, water wells. Your task will include developing ongoing strategies to maximise the impact of these important programs

Location:      UK Home Based with periods of travel to Malawi and India

Tenure:        Contract – 12 months or Permanent

This role is UK home based with extensive periods of travel to Malawi and India where you will be expected to live and work with the program teams for 1-6 months.

Core Duties

  • Manage, mentor and lead local teams to deliver outcomes in line with funding objectives
  • Develop and execute monitoring and evaluation processes for domestic and international beneficiary organisations
  • Design and implantation of projects and programs with local teams and partners
  • Writing new project proposals and presenting to trustees and partners
  • Developing project and performance metrics to maximise social returns
  • Reporting project progress and recommendations to trustees
  • Training and capacity building of local partners
  • Establish and nurture partnerships to deliver programs and objectives
  • Financial planning, budgeting and forecasting

Skills required

  • Fluent in English and preferably in Hindu or Urdu
  • Financial management and reporting of £100k-£1M projects
  • Monitoring and Evaluation systems and process knowledge
  • Ability to gather and analysis relevant data and evidence based decisions
  • Ability to work under pressure with diverse teams members and partners

Key Experience

  • Management, Monitoring, Evaluation experience, ideally in development and/or education
  • Hands on NGO/development experience
  • Experience delivering complex programs with multiple local partners
  • Experience working in African and Indian-Sub continent

The successful candidate must be happy to travel for long periods of time at short notice.All travel, accommodation and health costs will be covered. The work is largely in Muslim majority areas and so are most of the staff in the schools and projects.
