We specialise in the recruitment of high quality candidates in the Charity sector. We have an excellent opportunity for a Fundraising Manager / Development Manager who will enable the charity to fulfil their charitable mission and objectives by developing and implementing fundraising initiatives that maximise income and raise awareness of the charity.

Fundraising Manager /Development Manager’s Core Duties

  • Engagement with individuals and communities. He/she will focus on strengthening relationships with current donors and supporters; recruiting new donors, building upon the bedrock of existing support within the Muslim community in England
  • Responsible for maintaining and developing a varied portfolio of partners, ranging from individual donors to other trusts, foundations and commercial organisations
  • Increasing awareness about the charity in new areas through engagement with individuals and organisations in local communities
  • Working alongside a small team, you will develop and secure support for specific areas of charity’s charitable activities to develop, and maximise income from new and existing fundraising streams, focusing on strong relationships with mosques, but also including community fundraising, individual giving, direct marketing, regular giving and a wide range of events
  • Working closely with colleagues in the Development team, you'll also identify opportunities for a range of new fundraising events and activities and produce compelling proposals to secure support

Fundraising Manager / Development Manager’s Skills required

  • Either a graduate or someone with a minimum of 5 years of staff/project management experience, with a proven record of success in a results-orientated environment
  • Excellent project and event management skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and networking skills
  • A natural collaborator and at your best in a team
  • With an articulate, persuasive and accurate written style, you'll know how to draft compelling proposals and reports
  • Driven, pro-active and tenacious, and will have great influencing and negotiation skills
  • Sensitivity to differences in culture and nationality & work closely with colleagues & volunteers
  • Willingness to travel nationally is a key requirement of this role
  • Experience of the Muslim Charity Sector 
  • Ability to speak Urdu, Bengali or Arabic
