We specialise in the recruitment of high quality candidates in the Financial sector. We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager who works independently and is immediately capable of understanding business issues to advise strategically on projected rapid growth. This is a role for someone who is reactive and proactive, happy to take responsibility for all accounting transactions and not be afraid to “roll up their sleeves” and hit the ground running.

Finance Manager’s Core Duties

  • Ensure disciplined financial control is exercised daily to safeguard the company assets
  • Provide financial and commercial support to the Board and report on a regular basis
  • Ensure the financial functions are executed efficiently and all processes and systems are set up, maintained and continually improved
  • Manage day to day operation of Microsoft Dynamics
  • Take specific responsibility for all aspects of purchase order processing and purchase ledger
  • Be responsible for production of monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, budgets and forecasts and timely variance analysis report
  • Review current MI and Board reports and deliver enhancements where appropriate
  • Prepare annual accounts and liaise with external auditors to provide a comprehensive reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts
  • Ensure all statutory forms and returns are complete to external bodies within time
  • Ensure the company complies with HMRC regulations, including prep of quarterly VAT returns
  • Work with the MD on strategic objectives, producing plans and financial projections
  • Lead and manage the activities of the department to ensure deadlines are met and facilitate achievement and offer support to enable the department’s mission and company goals
  • Create a department plan for each functional area, direct and coordinate cross-department collaboration to ensure a robust financial function
  • Establish and implement short and long-range goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures. Include missions and goals as determined in discussion with the CEO
  • Recruit, train, supervise, motivate and evaluate department staff
  • Implementation of efficiency gain projects through the use of IT

Finance Manager’s Key Skills and Experience

  • Professional qualification or qualified by experience
  • Highly competent knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics, MS Office, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Ability to simultaneously manage several projects
  • Must keep up to date with changes in financial rules and regulations
