Finance Manager

We specialise in the recruitment of high quality candidates in the Finance sector. We have an excellent opportunity for a Finance Manager to join a leading automotive company based in Epsom, Surrey. The role holder will be responsible for monitoring general accounting practices, developing internal accounting controls, tracking corporate client/supplier accounts, and building a strong financial team.

Hybrid working - 3 days in the Office and 2 days from Home

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 + Flexitime, Company Car, Private Medical + other great benefits

Finance Manager’s Core Duties

• Drive monthly and quarterly financial close process ensuring accurate financial results
• Upload monthly and quarterly financial information to the Corporate EFIS system, own and oversee the balance sheet reconciliation, including monthly inter-company reconciliation
• Lead Accounts payable and receivable teams, and supervise financial accountants
• Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of Balance Sheet accounts, including inventory, accruals, prepayments, deferred income (IFRS 15) and fixed asset (IFRS 16) registers
• Ensure the company meets statutory and compliance obligations
• Coordinate and complete annual audits and tax (direct and indirect) reporting
• Develop relationships with external contacts (auditors, banks, and HM Revenue & Customs)
• Maintain and create new accounting policies, and evaluate effectiveness and compliance
• Improve systems and initiate corrective actions to automate the accounting process
• Supporting corporate projects, such as SAP HANA rollout, K-SOX
• Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
• Proactively drive cost savings and ensure results are understood within the company

Finance Manager’s Key Skills

• Fully qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent qualification
• Education and background in Accounting or Finance
• Previous experience as a Finance Manager
• Strong technical accounting ability, analytical and good research skills
• Previous experience of managing and developing staff
• Advanced systems skills (Excel) and experience with an ERP system (SAP preferred)
• Accurate and thorough data management
• Up to date knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
• Team player and ability to multitask
• Strong attention to detail and an investigative nature
• Ability to explain complex issues and present technical information clearly
