We specialise in the recruitment of high-quality candidates in the public sector. We have an excellent opportunity for a Facilities Management Officer. It is a hands-on role, carrying out general maintenance and repairs, as well as managing deliveries and contractors.

The Facilities Management Officer is initially offered on a temp basis however there is potential for this role to become permanent depending on the individual and workload.  

The Facilities Management Officer’s working hours are Monday to Friday (37 hours per week) with some flexibility with start and finish times.

Facilities Management Officer Core Duties

  • Carrying our general maintenance and repairs, minor plumbing and decorating tasks
  • Supervision of the work carried out by the Facilities Management Assistant
  • Supervision of cleaning staff, security guards, and other contractors
  • Manage the delivery and distribution of goods in the centre
  • Liaison with contractors, ensuring that they work in accordance with their agreed schedule and within Health & Safety guidelines
  • Carrying out the annual cycle of portable electrical appliance testing
  • Carrying out regular anti-legionella measures and maintain the log book
  • Ensure smooth running of the centre, including regular inspection of all fire routes and fire alarm tests
  • Such other duties which may arise from the use of the premises

Facilities Management Officer Skills required

  • Good communication skills
  • Good computer skills and able to use MS Word and Excel
  • Good decision and problem-solving skills

Facilities Management Officer Key Experience

  • Previous experience in a Facilities Management position
  • Previous experience working in a customer/public/council environment, not essential
  • Experience carrying out maintenance and repairs
  • Previous experience as a trade- person / handy person would be beneficial
