We specialise in the recruitment of high quality candidates in the Education sector. We have an excellent opportunity for a Conference Content Manager / Conference Producer, who will be responsible for researching and developing conference programmes for four major annual conferences and to help grow a portfolio of other events and workshops. The role will also be responsible for producing intellectually stimulating programmes that are commercially viable, performing market research, producing programmes, speaker invitations, event management, and managing budgets. The role will work closely with the marketing team and events coordinator.

Location: Mixture of Office and Work form Home home days per week

Conference Producer / Conference Content Manager’s Core Duties

  • Produce four annual conferences, including:
  • Research and develop content that is attractive to external stakeholders and sponsors
  • Conduct research via phone, email, and face-to-face with senior stakeholders
  • Source, invite and brief speakers and facilitators
  • Gather market insights and build member buy-in
  • Drive production schedules and ensure that timelines dovetail project plans
  • Produce marketable written copy to a high standard
  • Work with the marketing team to plan and deliver marketing activity
  • Ensure speakers are briefed on the content of their presentations
  • Work with the event coordinator to source venues and manage delegates

Help develop new workshops, seminars and symposia, and improve existing events

  1. Review and develop the programme of events in line with strategic objectives and budget
  2. Lead market research and initiatives to support development of new events
  3. Develop an understanding of higher education sector, issues and trends, as well as key players
  4. Monitor developments and trends within market

Conference Producer / Conference Content Manager’s Skills Required

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in managing, researching, writing and producing conferences, event programmes, and training courses (essential)
  • Experience delivering events for a membership body, trade association or higher education institution (desirable)
  • Experience consulting, communicating, and persuading stakeholders (essential)
  • Experience managing multiple events and production schedules simultaneously (essential)
  • Experience in writing marketable programmes and working with marketing teams (essential)
  • Background of successfully meeting event revenue targets (essential)
  • Experience producing and delivering online events (essential)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office (essential)
  • Excellent oral and written communication (essential)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and a range of external stakeholders (essential)
  • Ability to work flexible and unsocial hours if required and to travel within the UK (essential)
  • Educated to degree level or above (desirable)
