We specialise in the recruitment of high quality candidates in the senior management sector. We have an excellent opportunity for a Business Centre Manager / General Manager to join a virtual office services company that provides business addresses, mail handling, and telephone answering services.

Business Centre Manager’s Core Duties

Management

  • Liaise daily with all line managers under your span of control
  • Liaise daily with Senior Management in London to synchronise reporting across both London and Glasgow offices
  • Help implement and carry out Quality Assurance procedures alongside the Operations Director
  • Carry out Corrective Actions and disciplinaries with staff, where appropriate
  • One on One bi-weekly meetings with Line Managers
  • Human Resources Management functions including sickness reporting
  • Ensure Company policy and General Office rules are abided by at all times, to ensure maximum efficiency from all staff
  • In charge of stock inventories and ensuring we are fully supplied with what we need to run our business in Glasgow

Staff

  • Manage and develop as appropriate all staff across the business
  • Ensure that manpower meets the workload and standards required and liaise with Senior Management in the London Office in relation to recruitment to fulfil workload criteria
  • Responsibility for the induction, appraisal and training of staff in the Glasgow Office
  • Empower staff to create a strong work ethic and an ethos of responsibility
  • Responsibility for ensuring that all staff meet/ exceed client expectations
  • Responsibility for staff team building, leadership and quality control
  • Manage staff issues and staff performance evaluation
  • Undertake Return to Work meetings with staff absent through sickness
  • Update Staff Handbook as and when required for any new policies and procedures
  • Develop the Reception Team to ensure the best possible service is provided to our customers.

Business Centre Manager’s Skills required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
  • Substantial management qualifications
  • An excellent understanding of Office Management best practice, including IT systems
  • Ability to achieve objectives set whilst maintaining accuracy, positive customer relationships and positive working relationships with colleagues
  • Excellent Team Building skills
  • Very high level of written and verbal English
  • Highly computer literate including Microsoft office programmes and CRM databases
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise work
  • High levels of business/financial acumen
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Working under pressure and to strict deadlines
  • Have a working knowledge of HR functions and employment law
  • Have a good knowledge of modern IT systems (both software and hardware)
  • Ability to motivate and train staff, especially line managers

General Manager’s Experience required

  • Able to evidence commercial aptitude
  • Able to evidence experience of managing a team within a call centre environment
  • Able to evidence a great understanding of telephone/call answering systems
  • A proven track record of managing and developing multiple teams in an office environment
  • Can evidence extensive experience of developing and maintaining quality assurance/spot-checking procedures across multiple departments
  • Significant experience of reporting to a Director level position
