Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assists in the design and implementation of the public relations programmes, specifically in the local market/region but also globally.
Stays abreast of local firm best practices and systems and processes, market intelligence and industry trends, in order to make recommendations for the advancement of the firm's public relations programmes. Participates in the ongoing development and maintenance of systems and processes for the efficient running of the press office.
Maintains media databases, disseminates coverage and tracks press office activity. He/she also researches emerging media trends, such as content aggregators, and develops structures for tracking and interacting with them. Supervises the maintenance of editorial calendars. Supervises firm contacts with external media within the market/region; manages the reactive press office function, and directs media inquiries to appropriate lawyers.
Drafts and distributes press releases, deal and case announcements and general media announcements. Identifies opportunities for byline articles, drafts media pitches and places articles.
Helps coordinate award entries and directories and survey submissions and facilitates interviews, as required.
Works with lawyers to develop media pitches and to prepare them for media interviews.Proactively seeks media opportunities for profiling the firm and lawyers. Drafts content for the firm's website and internal communications channels.
Works closely with local Business Development Department/Client Programmes Team to leverage domestic and international events and seminar programmes as part of public relations programme.
Completes special projects as needed.
Promotes effective work practices, works as a team member, and shows respect for co-workers.
Position Specifications
Work Experience Four (4) years related public relations experience desired. Experience with strategic media relations and media contacts required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Well developed and professional interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm.
Excellent leadership skills (i.e., organizing, planning, problem-solving and decision-making) necessary for effective management.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to write professionally and utilize communication skills to enhance the firm's outstanding reputation.
Ability to work in a team environment with a customer service focus.
Organization skills needed to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines. Ability to proofread and ensure accurate pitches, presentations, etc.
Willingness to complete all tasks and learn new skills. Advanced knowledge in PC applications, including MS Office.InterAction a plus.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion. |
